In the spring of 2000, my sons and I decided that it was about time that we had a boat to go fishing in. I did not want to spend a fortune but wanted a nice boat. Why not consider building one? After searching the net I found Harold  "Dynamite" Payson's website. We decided that Diablo was the boat for us and that the tack and tape method was something that we could do even though we have never built a boat before. A little adventure keeps life interesting. So I ordered the book, Build the New Instant Boats, written by Mr. Payson, and we were on our way!

Thoughts and prayers for our Troops

Well we are in the fifth season with our Diablo. I finally took some new pictures to put on the site as we went on a fishing trip on a beatiful July morning. This shot shows the custom boat shed that I built in 2001 to protect the boat from the harsh New Hampshire winters.

This shows the graceful lines of Diablo. She is a great boat. We have had a lot of fun cruising around and fishing. It does feel good to be enjoying a boat that we built ourselves..

This is my youngest son, Joe. This same picture has been taken many times with different fish. There is plenty of room in this boat for 3 people, even 4. It is downright spacious with just 2.

We just pulled out of Turtle Pond and are heading home to grill some hot dogs. This is good stuff. I would suggest to anyone who is considering building their own boat to go ahead and do it. I think there may be another in my future.
